BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Visions or supernatural manifestations of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The experiences are accompanied by other paranormal phenomena, such as visions of angels, heavenly music and singing, miraculous healing, luminosities, and on the part of the percipients, extrasensory perception, prophesying and Mediumship. The apparitions tend to be apocalyptic in nature with Mary exhorting people to prayer and righteous living and in the building of churches in her honor. In Mary's predictions she also warns of dire consequences if people continue their sinful ways. She bestows what we call psychic abilities through secret prophecies on a select few, usually children who are able to see her. Mary has taken over the primary function of prophets of old who were transported to heaven to receive this information and prophecies from God. Marian apparitions have been reported worldwide over the centuries. Only eight of the reported apparitions have been deemed authentic by the Catholic Church. The Catholic church holds that such events are religious apparitions and mystical phenomena permitted by God. Corporeal and incorporeal apparitions are mentioned in both the old and new testament of the bible. Marian apparitions are not accepted as articles of faith, and only those deemed by the church to be authentic are celebrated. The Catholic church is very detailed in its investigations of such manifestations. Mary's appearance at Guadalupe included heavenly singing and one of her miraculous visions included an angel. Throughout time it has been documented of Mary's appearances to us from all over the world, such as Paris, Mexico, Lourdes, Belgium, to name just a few and from times of 1531 to present. Her most famous and dramatic as well as authenticated visits was at Lourdes to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 and at Fatamia in 1917, to three children .
